FAQ
Honest answers, upfront.
The most common questions we hear from people considering a run of mild hyperbaric sessions. If yours isn't answered here, send us a note.
What exactly is mild hyperbaric oxygen?+
Mild hyperbaric oxygen is a wellness practice where you relax inside a soft-sided chamber at gentle pressure (around 1.3 atmospheres) while breathing oxygen-enriched air. Sessions run sixty to ninety minutes. It is a wellness service, not a medical treatment.
Is this the same thing hospitals use?+
No. Medical-grade HBOT, delivered in hospital at higher pressures, is used by physicians for a specific list of medical conditions. Mild hyperbaric, what we offer, uses a soft chamber at much lower pressure as a complementary wellness practice.
Does it treat concussions, long COVID, or any specific condition?+
We don't make treatment claims. We can't. Mild hyperbaric is a wellness service, not a medical treatment. We do have many clients who come in hoping the practice supports their body's natural recovery from those situations, and we take their goals seriously without overpromising anything.
How many sessions do I need?+
Most clients start with a ten-session package to see what the practice feels like. Some notice changes quickly. Others need a longer run to build anything meaningful. Many clients eventually shift to a maintenance membership of eight sessions a month, or return for a 90-Day Reset once or twice a year.
What does a session feel like?+
Comfortable. You lie or sit inside the chamber as it gently pressurizes. You may feel a mild ear-popping sensation like on an airplane. Once at pressure, you relax. Most people read, listen to a podcast, rest, or nap. When the session ends, the chamber gradually depressurizes and you step out.
Are there reasons I shouldn't do this?+
Yes. Pregnancy, recent ear or sinus surgery, active respiratory infection, uncontrolled seizures, and certain lung and heart conditions are examples. Certain medications also matter. Our intake form flags anything that needs a conversation with your physician before your first session.
Will my extended health benefits cover this?+
Mild hyperbaric is a wellness service and is generally not covered by provincial health plans. Some private extended-health benefits may apply. We provide receipts on request.
How do I pay?+
Packages and memberships are paid upfront. Drop-in sessions are paid at the time of booking. We accept credit card and Interac e-Transfer.
What if I need to cancel a session?+
Life happens. We ask for twenty-four hours notice whenever possible. Late cancellations may count toward your package depending on the situation. Memberships pause with seven days notice and cancel with thirty.
Where are you located?+
Comber, Ontario, just off Highway 401 between Windsor and Chatham-Kent. Most of our clients drive in from Windsor, Chatham, Leamington, LaSalle, Kingsville, Tecumseh, and Belle River. The drive is typically under thirty minutes.
