Your First Visit
What to expect the first time you come in.
The first session is part orientation, part practice. We'll walk you through everything, take care of the paperwork, and let you experience a full session with zero guesswork.
Before you arrive
We'll send you an intake form by email. It asks about your general health, any medications, any recent procedures, and what you're hoping to get out of the practice. Completing it before you come saves time and lets us prepare for your specific situation.
We'll also send a short list of contraindications. If anything on the list applies to you, please check with your physician before your session.
What to wear
Loose, comfortable clothing. Soft layers are ideal. You'll be inside the chamber for about an hour, so dress for comfort. Avoid synthetic fabrics and fragrance, and leave electronics and metal jewellery in your bag.
The session itself
Sessions run sixty to ninety minutes depending on what you've chosen. You'll climb in, get comfortable, and the chamber will gradually pressurize over a few minutes. You may notice the same gentle ear-pressure feeling you get on an airplane during takeoff or landing. Yawning, swallowing, or chewing gum takes care of it.
Once at pressure, you rest. Read, listen to a podcast, nap, or simply close your eyes. When the session ends, we gradually de-pressurize the chamber and you step out.
How you'll feel after
Most first-time clients describe feeling calm, clear-headed, and slightly sleepy. A small number feel a gentle head-clearing sensation that eases within an hour. Hydration after your session is important. We'll have water for you.
Results from mild hyperbaric sessions tend to accumulate over a run of sessions rather than hitting you all at once in the first hour. A ten-session package is usually where people start noticing what changes between a week with sessions and a week without.
Safety and screening
Mild hyperbaric is generally well-tolerated, but there are situations where we'll ask you to wait, skip the practice, or get clearance from your physician before coming in. Pregnancy, recent ear or sinus surgery, an active respiratory infection, uncontrolled seizures, and certain lung and heart conditions are examples. Our intake is designed to flag anything that needs a conversation before your first session.
