Lakeshore Hyperbaric

Who comes in

The post-concussion parent.

A hockey hit. A football tackle. A soccer header. A fall at school. Concussions happen, and the recovery process can be slow. Families come to us looking for non-invasive, gentle practices to layer on top of the care their physician or neurologist is already providing.

An important note up front

Concussions are a medical issue and should always be assessed and managed by a qualified physician. Mild hyperbaric is not a treatment for concussion. It is a complementary wellness practice that some families choose to fold in alongside their medical care, return-to-learn and return-to-play protocols, and physiotherapy.

If your child is in the acute phase of a head injury, please follow the instructions of your physician and emergency provider first. This page is about the longer, slower recovery many families face after the initial care is complete.

What parents tell us

“The first month was okay, but now we're four months in and the symptoms aren't fully gone.” “Schoolwork is harder. The headaches are less, but still there. Concentration still isn't what it was.” “Our doctor says to be patient and we are, but we want to actively support the healing, not just wait.”

That desire to actively support recovery, alongside the medical team, is what brings most post-concussion families to our door. We honour that instinct. We work hard to give you a quiet, comfortable environment that fits into an already exhausting season.

A typical practice

Post-concussion clients often run a twenty-session package or 90-Day Reset, with sessions two to three times a week. Kids and teens usually find the chamber experience more comfortable than they expected. Parents sit in the quiet waiting room and catch up on email, read, or just get a rare hour to breathe.

We'll never promise an outcome. We offer a consistent, gentle practice and give you a clear, warm space where your child can rest.
